CP Holiday Train Rolls Through Toronto

What a great way to raise money and food donations for local food banks: Decorate a train in festive scenes of light, and travel across the country entertaining residents in 150 different towns/cities along the way with a fun, holiday performance from a boxcar turned stage!

The CP Holiday Train passed through Toronto last Saturday night on its festive journey from Montreal in the east to Port Coquitlam in the west. It’s actually very magical to see the train pull in all decorated and lit up against the night sky! And fun to watch in anticipation as the side of the boxcar folds down to reveal the stage and the first explosion of music from the band! The Odds and Roxanne Potvin were the performers for Toronto entertaining the crowd with a variety of fun holiday tunes before the train pulled out heading on to its next stop.

This was the first year I’d actually ever heard of it, but according to their website it’s been happening since 1999! The CP Holiday Train includes 2 trains – one in the US and one in Canada, and since its inception has “covered over 100,000 miles and raised close to $9.5 million and 3.3 million pounds of food.” Amazing! I love it! I will definitely support the cause again next year!

In case you missed it…here are some pics from this years’ tour:
