Ever look up when waiting for the Spadina streetcar?

Have you ever noticed how when you’re in the hustle and bustle of your day, the little details around you are often missed?

I’m not sure how I’ve never noticed this before, but one day when I was waiting for the Spadina streetcar, I looked up and saw that there were sculptures sitting high above us atop a post. As the streetcar made it’s way up the line to the Bloor station, I kept watch at each stop and realized that there were sculptures at several of the stops along the way!

So the next time you’re on the Spadina streetcar, keep an eye out. You just might see one of these:

On a recent trip I did notice the poles commemorating the garment workers rights struggles. It’s odd how little there is online about these sculptures. I hope more people notice them. Such a treat to see them. Thanks for pointing them out.

Thanks for this information. How beautiful that these are in place for our enjoyment. Now I want to ride the Spadina line to see them even though your pictures are excellent. Thanks again.
