Toronto Underground Market — Yum!

I hit my first Toronto Underground Market this year. I’ve been wanting to try it for the last couple of years and finally got a chance to this year. If you’ve not heard of it, it’s a social event where up-and-coming entrepreneurs and chefs test out new food ideas. (This was the first of 4 scheduled for this year, so if you missed the first one you still have 3 more chances!)

It definitely did not disappoint! There were so many delicious choices — we wanted to try everything! But alas we couldn’t…there was just too much to be able to try everything! Of what my friends and I did try though, our absolute favourite was:

Ribs from Home of the Brave

TUM - Home of the Brave sign

.

They were fall-off-the-bone delicious! Not sure if they’ve made it onto the menu at their restaurant (at King and Portland) yet, but we’ll definitely be heading over to the restaurant to see!

Unfortunately, I didn’t think to take a picture of the ribs before we ate them. But here is a pic of them being prepared.

TUM - Stuffed and Co event menuRunner-up for our favourite dish, but not by far, was:

Stuffed Wings from Stuffed & Co

Available only on the food event scene right now, these wings were fantastic! It took awhile for our order to be ready, but they were definitely worth the wait. None of us had ever had a wing stuffed with something before, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but we loved them! We tried the fully loaded potato and mac & cheese versions.

It was a great evening! And as a special treat to cap off the night, we stumbled across this funny piece of street art tucked in the open garage adjacent to the underground parking where our car was (in one of the buildings just north-east of 99 Sudbury):

Ok so I just realized you share all that info by me simply clicking on the blue printed words. Thank you.

This looks very interesting. Do they run all day and evening? How does one find the schedule and location of the up and coming ones?
